Multicolor 3D printers with an enclosure: every enclosed multi-material model

Twenty-three shipping enclosed 3D printers in the database print in more than one color. The cheapest that stays enclosed with its color unit is the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, launched at $449. The Elegoo Centauri Carbon has a lower launch price, $299.99, and takes Elegoo’s four-color CANVAS kit, but the kit replaces its glass lid.

Seventeen have one nozzle and change colors through an add-on. Sixteen of them feed several spools into that nozzle one at a time through a filament-switching unit, such as Bambu Lab’s AMS or Creality’s CFS. The Prusa CORE One L+ uses Prusa’s INDX tool changer. The other six carry two or more nozzles in the base printer.

The table lists all 23, cheapest launch price first. Read its price column with the multi-material column: for the 17 single-nozzle printers, the launch price is the printer alone, and the feeder or tool changer costs extra or comes in a combo. AMS is Bambu Lab’s name for its feeder, so an enclosed printer with an AMS is one of the seven Bambu Lab models above. The cheapest of them is the P2S: $549 alone, or $799 at launch as a combo with an AMS 2 Pro.

Bambu Lab’s wiki explains that a single-nozzle printer flushes the old material out of the hotend with some of the new filament at every change, so the colors do not mix. On a two-nozzle printer, two filaments can each print from their own nozzle, and changing between them takes a nozzle swap instead of a flush.

The cheapest enclosed multicolor 3D printer that stays enclosed is the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, launched on 26 January 2026 at $449 with Elegoo’s four-color CANVAS unit. The Elegoo Centauri Carbon has a lower launch price, $299.99, and takes a separately sold CANVAS kit, but fitting it removes the glass lid.

On 28 October 2026, elegoo.com showed the kit sold out at $55 and Elegoo’s US store listed it at $65, so printer and kit come to about $355 to $365. In Fauxhammer’s review, the glass lid removed during the install could not be refitted over the unit, and Elegoo offered no replacement lid, so the printer runs with its top open.

Next come the QIDI Q2C and the Centauri Carbon 2 at $399 each, without color units.
