The cheapest multicolor 3D printer in the database, counting the multicolor unit in the price, is the Elegoo Centauri 2 Combo at $379. Two printers include a four-color system in a $399 launch price: the Anycubic Kobra X and the Creality Ender-3 V4. The table lists all 40 shipping printers that take a multicolor system or carry more than one nozzle, cheapest launch price first.

Read the price column alongside the multi-material column. The launch price is usually the printer alone, and “optional” means the multicolor unit costs extra. Combo prices on this page come from the makers’ announcements and launch reviews, cited below. Street prices move after launch, so check a retailer for today’s price.

What is the cheapest multicolor 3D printer?

Counting only bundles with the multicolor unit included, the cheapest is the Elegoo Centauri 2 Combo at $379: a CoreXY with Elegoo’s four-spool CANVAS unit. The Anycubic Kobra X and Creality Ender-3 V4 follow at $399, each with a four-color system built in or bundled. All three are open-frame printers.

Counting the printer alone, three models that take an optional multicolor unit tie at $299: the Centauri 2, the Creality K2 SE and the Bambu Lab A1 mini. Adding the CANVAS unit takes the Centauri 2 to $379 as a combo.

The Kobra X carries Anycubic’s ACE Gen 2 in the printhead with four spools as standard. The Ender-3 V4 is sold only as a combo with one Creality CFS unit.

The cheapest enclosed multicolor bundle on record is the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo at $449.

What is the cheapest 3D printer with an AMS?

AMS is Bambu Lab’s name for its multicolor feeder. The cheapest Bambu Lab printer that takes one is the A1 mini: $299 alone, or $459 at launch as a combo with the four-spool AMS lite. The A1 combo launched at $559. The A2L, at $469, is the cheapest that also accepts full AMS units.

Other makers sell feeders under their own names: Creality’s CFS, Anycubic’s ACE Pro and ACE 2 Pro, Elegoo’s CANVAS and QIDI’s QIDI Box.

The Bambu Lab A2L takes up to four AMS units plus one AMS lite, for 19 colors. The Bambu Lab P2S ($549) takes up to eight AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT units, for 20 slots.

Two Bambu Lab printers ship with an AMS 2 Pro in the box: the H2C at $2,399 and the H2D Pro at $3,799, which adds an AMS HT. The Bambu Lab printer comparison shows which AMS each model supports.

Is there a multicolor 3D printer under $200?

No. No printer in the database with a multicolor system launched at $200 or less. The cheapest printers that accept one launched at $299 without the unit, and the cheapest bundle was the $379 Centauri 2 Combo. The only shipping printer under $200, the $199 Creality Ender-3 V3 SE, has no multicolor option.

That makes $299 the entry point for a printer that can be upgraded to multicolor later, and $379 for one that prints in color out of the box. The 3D printers under $300 list shows the single-color options at the low end.

Does the launch price include the multicolor unit?

Usually not. For 30 of the 40 printers in the table, the multicolor system is sold separately or in a combo, so the launch price covers the printer alone. The multi-material column says when it is included: the Kobra X and Ender-3 V4 come with theirs, and the H2C and H2D Pro ship with an AMS 2 Pro.

Six more carry their extra nozzles in the launch price. The Flashforge Creator 5 ($799), Flashforge Creator 5 Pro ($949) and Snapmaker U1 ($999) each have four toolheads built in, so they print up to four colors or materials without a feeder. The Bambu Lab X2D ($649) and H2D ($1,899) have two nozzles, with the AMS as an option. The Snapmaker Artisan ($2,999) has a dual-extrusion module.

For printers with a big bed as well as multicolor, see large multicolor 3D printers.
