Large enclosed 3D printers: 300 mm beds and up

Shipping printers in the database that pair a bed of at least 300 x 300 mm with a full enclosure, largest build volume first. The table shows which chambers are actively heated, how hot the maker rates them, the filtration fitted and the launch price.

The database lists 13 shipping enclosed printers with a bed of at least 300 x 300 mm (11.8 in). They run from 300 x 300 x 300 mm (27 liters) on the Creality K1 Max and Creality K2 Pro up to 400 x 400 x 400 mm (64 liters) on the Snapmaker Artisan. Nine of the 13 have an actively heated chamber.

Specs are the makers’ published figures, and a dash means the maker publishes none. For every size class, open or enclosed, see the build volume topic.

Which large 3D printers have an enclosure?

Thirteen shipping printers in the database combine a bed of 300 x 300 mm or more with a full enclosure. Nine heat the chamber actively. Four use a passive enclosure: the Snapmaker Artisan, FLSUN S1 Pro, Prusa CORE One L+ and Creality K1 Max. Launch prices run from $749 to $3,799.

A passive enclosure holds in only the heat from the bed and hotend, while a heated chamber adds a heater that warms the air itself. The difference matters for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS): Prusa’s ABS material guide asks for an enclosure with a higher ambient temperature to limit warping.

Eleven of the 13 are CoreXY machines, where the toolhead moves in X and Y and the bed moves only in Z. The Snapmaker Artisan is a bed slinger. The FLSUN S1 Pro is a delta with a round build area 320 mm across and 430 mm tall. For CoreXY machines of any size, see large CoreXY 3D printers.

Which large 3D printers have a heated chamber?

Nine of the large enclosed printers in the database list a chamber heater. Seven are rated 65 °C: the QIDI Max4, Anycubic Kobra S1 Max, Bambu Lab H2S, H2D, H2D Pro, H2C and QIDI Plus5. The Creality K2 Plus and K2 Pro are rated 60 °C. Seven of the nine launched under $2,000.

In launch-price order, those seven are the QIDI Plus5 at $749, Creality K2 Pro at $849, Anycubic Kobra S1 Max at $899, QIDI Max4 at $1,149, Bambu Lab H2S at $1,249, Creality K2 Plus at $1,299 and Bambu Lab H2D at $1,899. The H2C launched at $2,399 and the H2D Pro at $3,799.

The four passive machines carry no chamber heater, and their makers rate them differently. Prusa states 60 °C for the CORE One L+, reached by fans that push air across the heated bed rather than by a separate heater. FLSUN states 50 °C for the S1 Pro. Snapmaker and Creality publish no chamber figure for the Artisan or the K1 Max. The chamber temperature comparison covers every enclosed printer in the database, large or small.

Are there 400 x 400 mm 3D printers with an enclosure?

Yes, one in the database: the Snapmaker Artisan, at 400 x 400 x 400 mm with the enclosure included. It launched at $2,999 as a 3-in-1 machine with laser and CNC modules. Its enclosure is passive, with no published chamber rating. The next largest enclosed printer is the QIDI Max4, at 390 x 390 x 340 mm.

No enclosed printer in the database is larger than the Artisan. The biggest open-frame machines go much further: the Elegoo OrangeStorm Giga at 800 x 800 x 1,000 mm, the Sovol SV08 Max at 500 x 500 x 500 mm, the FLSUN V400 Max delta at 500 mm across and 550 mm tall, the Anycubic Kobra 3 Max at 420 x 420 x 500 mm and the Creality Ender-5 Max at 400 x 400 x 400 mm. For large machines of every frame type, see large-format 3D printers.
