Nine 3D printers in the database have a laser engraver sold by their maker. Five are on sale: the Bambu Lab H2S (10 W), the Bambu Lab H2D, Bambu Lab H2C and Bambu Lab H2D Pro (10 W or 40 W), and the Snapmaker Artisan (10 W or 40 W). Four are discontinued Snapmaker 2.0 models. The Artisan and the Snapmaker 2.0 A250T and A350T include a laser in the box.

How to read the table. The laser column lists the module powers the maker sells for that printer, then “included” or “optional”. Launch price is the cheapest configuration at launch. For the four Bambu Lab printers that is the printer without a laser, so a Laser Full Combo or upgrade kit costs more than the figure shown. The Snapmaker Artisan’s $2,999 launch price already covered its laser, as the Snapmaker 2.0 A250T and A350T prices covered their 1.6 W module. Third-party laser kits for printers whose maker never sold one are not listed.

Which 3D printers have a laser engraver?

Five printers on sale have a maker-sold laser engraver: the Bambu Lab H2S, H2D, H2C and H2D Pro, and the Snapmaker Artisan. All five are enclosed and use a blue diode laser. The H2S takes only the 10 W module; the others take 10 W or 40 W. Four discontinued Snapmaker 2.0 models also take one.

The four Bambu Lab printers share one laser system. Bambu Lab says the 10 W and 40 W modules fit only the “H2 Laser version”, so a standard H2 printer needs the Laser Upgrade Kit first. The kit adds laser safety windows, a top laser protection plate, an air pump, a BirdsEye camera, a smoke ventilation pipe and an emergency stop button.

The 40 W module will not fit the Bambu Lab H2S. Bambu Lab’s wiki says it hits the air duct and cable chain and is wider than the toolhead. The Bambu Lab H2D Pro ships without a laser, and Bambu Lab lists laser and blade-cutting upgrades for it.

The Snapmaker Artisan is a 3-in-1 machine: 3D printer, laser and computer numerical control (CNC) router. Snapmaker also lists a 20 W module and a 1064 nm infrared module as compatible.

The Snapmaker 2.0 is the Artisan’s open-frame predecessor, now discontinued and sold only used. The Snapmaker 2.0 A350T and A250T shipped with a 1.6 W laser and a 50 W CNC module. The F350 and F250 shipped as printers only. Snapmaker lists 10 W, 20 W and 40 W modules as compatible with all four.

Which 3D printers include the laser module in the box?

Among printers on sale, only the Snapmaker Artisan includes a laser: 10 W on the Artisan and 40 W on the Artisan Premium, each with a 200 W CNC module. The Bambu Lab H2S, H2D and H2C come with a laser only as a Laser Full Combo. The discontinued Snapmaker 2.0 A250T and A350T had a 1.6 W module.

A Bambu Lab Laser Full Combo includes more than the laser. Bambu Lab’s store lists these contents for the H2D, H2S and H2C:

  • the 10 W or 40 W laser module (10 W only on the H2S)
  • a Cutting Module with pen holder
  • a laser platform and a cutting platform
  • a ventilation pipe and an emergency stop button
  • an AMS 2 Pro filament unit
  • sample laser and cutting materials

The Bambu Lab H2D Pro ships without a laser and takes one through the upgrade kit. On 10 October 2026, Snapmaker’s US store listed the Artisan at $2,099 and the Artisan Premium at $2,499. The Artisan’s $2,999 launch price in 2022 bought the version with the 10 W module. The H2D laser vs printer-only guide covers whether to buy a Bambu Lab printer with the laser now or upgrade later.

Which 3D printers have a laser and a cutter?

All of them can cut, in different ways. Each Bambu Lab Laser Full Combo adds a blade Cutting Module, and the lasers cut wood: 5 to 6 mm basswood at 10 W (Bambu Lab’s pages give both figures) and 15 mm at 40 W. The Snapmaker Artisan and Snapmaker 2.0 also cut with a CNC module.

The blade cutter’s area is 300 × 285 mm on the Bambu Lab H2D and H2C. On the Bambu Lab H2S it is 297.5 × 300 mm, narrowed in X to clear the filament cutter. Snapmaker rates the Artisan’s one-pass laser cut at 5 mm basswood plywood with the 10 W module and 15 mm with the 40 W.

How large is the laser work area?

The laser area is smaller than the print bed on the Bambu Lab printers and matches it on the Snapmaker Artisan. Bambu Lab lists 310 × 270 mm (10 W) and 310 × 250 mm (40 W) for the H2D and H2C, 310 × 260 mm for the H2S. Snapmaker lists 400 × 400 mm for both Artisan modules.

Height matters for thick blanks. On the Bambu Lab H2D and H2C, Bambu Lab gives a maximum processing height of 280 mm with the 10 W module and 265 mm with the 40 W.

Are these machines Class 1 laser products?

Yes, with the enclosure closed and every safety part fitted. Bambu Lab rates the laser module itself Class 4 and the complete H2 laser machine Class 1. Snapmaker says the Artisan’s enclosure reduces the hazard from Class 4 to Class 1, and its door sensor stops a laser or CNC job when a door opens.

The US Food and Drug Administration describes Class 1 as “considered non-hazardous”. Class 4 is an “immediate skin hazard and eye hazard from exposure to either the direct or reflected beam” and “may also present a fire hazard”.

The open-frame Snapmaker 2.0 is a Class 4 machine on its own; Snapmaker says its separately sold Enclosure for Snapmaker 2.0 brings it to Class 1 and pauses laser jobs when a door opens.

The Class 1 rating depends on the laser safety windows: on a Bambu Lab H2 printer they come with the Laser Full Combo or the upgrade kit. Bambu Lab also tells owners not to leave the machine unattended during laser jobs and to keep flammable materials away from it. The desktop laser safety guide covers the rest.

How do these printers handle laser smoke?

Both makers extract laser smoke with an exhaust system, separate from the print filters in the table. The Bambu Lab H2 laser printers vent through a smoke ventilation pipe with a 100 mm adapter. The Snapmaker Artisan has an exhaust fan, uprated on the Artisan Premium. Each maker also sells an optional purifier.

Bambu Lab’s Smoke Purifier works with the H2 Laser printers and stacks G4, F8, activated carbon and H13 high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. Bambu Lab notes that its ventilation pipe can also run out of a window. Snapmaker’s US store sells Artisan bundles with an Air Purifier and a rotary module.

The filtration column shows what each maker fits for printing: carbon, HEPA and a pre-filter on the Bambu Lab H2 series, and none as standard on the Artisan. The laser engraving fumes guide covers what laser smoke contains and where to vent it.

Should you choose a 10 W or 40 W laser?

The 40 W module cuts thicker wood and engraves faster. The 10 W module has a finer spot and a slightly larger work area. Bambu Lab lists 15 mm basswood and 1,000 mm/s engraving for its 40 W module, against 5 to 6 mm and 400 mm/s for the 10 W. The Bambu Lab H2S takes only the 10 W module.

Bambu Lab gives a spot size of 0.14 × 0.03 mm for the 10 W module and 0.14 × 0.2 mm for the 40 W. On the Snapmaker Artisan, the 40 W module adds air assist and the 10 W module has camera capture. The 10 W vs 40 W laser module guide goes further.

Where do the figures come from?

Each row comes from that printer’s record, which cites the maker’s spec page and shows a last-verified date. A printer appears here when its maker sells a laser module for that model. Work areas, cutting depths, safety classes and box contents come from the makers’ stores and wikis listed below. The methodology page sets out the sourcing rules.
