Bambu Lab H2D Laser Full Combo vs printer only: what changes

The Laser Full Combo is a laser-ready H2D sold with a 10 W or 40 W laser, the Cutting Module and an AMS 2 Pro. This guide lists what each box holds, what each costs on Bambu Lab's US store and how a printer-only H2D gets a laser later.

The Bambu Lab H2D Laser Full Combo adds a laser-ready printer, a 10 W or 40 W laser module, the Cutting Module and an AMS 2 Pro to what the printer-only H2D ships with. On Bambu Lab’s US store on 2026-10-10, the printer alone listed at $1,549, the 10 W Laser Full Combo at $2,149 and the 40 W version at $2,699.

What does the H2D Laser Full Combo add over the printer-only H2D?

It adds a laser-ready printer and the parts to use it. The H2D Laser Edition has laser safety windows, a built-in air-assist pump and a factory-fitted BirdsEye camera. The box adds a 10 W or 40 W laser module, the Cutting Module, laser and cutting platforms, a ventilation pipe, an emergency stop button and an AMS 2 Pro.

The printer itself differs in three places, according to the FAQ on Bambu Lab’s H2D store page:

  • Laser safety windows. The front door, both side windows and the top cover block laser light. Bambu Lab says you can watch a laser job through them without goggles.
  • Air assist. A pump and air pipe are built into the back of the printer. Air assist blows air along the laser path for a cleaner cut edge.
  • BirdsEye camera. It views the bed from above. Bambu Lab rates its alignment at up to 0.3 mm, and Bambu Suite uses its image to fit a job onto offcut material.

The printing hardware is the same. Bambu Lab’s spec table lists one build volume for every H2D configuration. The full print specs are on the Bambu Lab H2D spec sheet.

Every Laser Full Combo ships with an AMS 2 Pro, the same unit sold in the H2D AMS Combo. A listing that says “with AMS” describes the standard box, not an extra.

Does the H2D Laser Full Combo come with a 10W or 40W laser?

It comes with one or the other. Bambu Lab sells two versions, the H2D Laser Full Combo 10 W and the H2D Laser Full Combo 40 W, and each box holds only the module you chose. On 2026-10-10 the US store listed them at $2,149 and $2,699, a $550 difference.

Bambu Lab’s own figures for the two modules:

  • Maximum cut in basswood plywood: 5 mm for 10 W, 15 mm for 40 W.
  • Maximum engraving speed: 400 mm/s for 10 W, 1000 mm/s for 40 W.
  • Processing area: 310 × 270 mm and 280 mm high for 10 W; 310 × 250 mm and 265 mm high for 40 W.

Both are 455 nm blue diode lasers. Bambu Lab lists the same materials for each: wood, rubber, sheet metal, leather, dark acrylic and stone. The 10 W vs 40 W laser module guide compares the two in more depth.

How much more does the Laser Full Combo cost?

The 10 W Laser Full Combo costs $600 more than the printer-only H2D and the 40 W version $1,150 more, at Bambu Lab US store prices listed on 2026-10-10. Against the H2D AMS Combo, which ships the same AMS 2 Pro, the laser hardware adds $400 for 10 W or $950 for 40 W.

  • H2D (printer only): $1,549. Launch price $1,899.
  • H2D AMS Combo: $1,749. Launch price $2,199.
  • H2D Laser Full Combo 10 W: $2,149. Launch price $2,799.
  • H2D Laser Full Combo 40 W: $2,699. Launch price $3,499.

The store showed the printer-only H2D, the AMS Combo and the 10 W Laser Full Combo as reduced from “Typical Price” figures of $1,749, $1,999 and $2,549. Launch prices come from 3D Printing Industry’s report of Bambu Lab’s 2025-03-25 announcement.

Can you add a laser to a printer-only H2D later?

Yes. Bambu Lab sells the Laser Upgrade Kit for the H2D and H2C with the laser module included, listed at $698 for 10 W and $1,348 for 40 W on 2026-10-10. Bambu Lab says an upgraded H2D works and performs the same as the H2D Laser Edition. A bare laser module fits only a Laser Edition printer.

The H2D/H2C kit holds front, left and right laser safety windows and a top laser protection plate. It also has a BirdsEye camera, an air pump with its tube and cable, a laser platform with six slats, a ventilation pipe and adapter, an emergency stop button, small fittings and the laser module.

It differs from the Laser Full Combo in three ways:

  • External air pump. The kit’s pump sits beside the printer and connects through an air tube. The Laser Full Combo’s pump is built in.
  • No Cutting Module. The kit’s contents list has no Cutting Module or Cutting Platform.
  • No AMS. A printer-only H2D with the kit still has no AMS 2 Pro.

At the 2026-10-10 prices, a printer-only H2D plus the 10 W kit totals $2,247, and an AMS Combo plus the 10 W kit totals $2,447. The 10 W Laser Full Combo costs $2,149. With 40 W, an AMS Combo plus the kit totals $3,097, against $2,699 for the 40 W Laser Full Combo.

Installing the kit replaces the H2D’s front door and both side glass panels with laser safety windows. You then clip in the BirdsEye camera, connect the pump and ventilation pipe, and run the camera and laser setup routines. The Bambu Lab Wiki upgrade guide lists an H2.0 Allen key and 1.5 hours. The H2D store page FAQ still calls the kit “expected to be released in Q3,” while the kit’s own page lists it for sale.

Does the laser change what the H2D can make?

Printing is unchanged; the laser and cutter work in a smaller area. Bambu Lab’s Wiki gives the H2D a 325 × 320 mm printable area, and the store quotes 350 × 320 mm across both nozzles. The 10 W laser covers 310 × 270 mm, the 40 W 310 × 250 mm and the Cutting Module 300 × 285 mm.

On safety, Bambu Lab rates the laser module Class 4 and the complete machine Class 1. The machine adds flame sensors and the emergency stop button. Smoke leaves through the ventilation pipe on a 100 mm adapter, or through an air purifier sold separately. The laser engraving fumes guide covers venting, and the desktop laser safety guide explains the laser classes.

The H2S takes only the 10 W module, per Bambu Lab’s Wiki. The Bambu Lab laser printer comparison shows which H2 model takes which module.
