Large 3D printers under $1,000, by build volume

The Anycubic Kobra 3 Max V2 has the largest build volume of any printer in the database that launched at $1,000 or less: 420 x 420 x 500 mm (16.5 x 16.5 x 19.7 in) for $599. Under $500 the largest is the Bambu Lab A2L (330 x 320 x 325 mm, $469), and under $400 the Sovol SV06 Plus ACE (300 x 300 x 350 mm, $349).

The table lists every shipping printer in the database that launched at $1,000 or less and has a bed of at least 250 mm (9.8 in) on both sides, largest build volume first. Prices are launch prices for the base configuration in US dollars, without multi-material units. Street prices move after launch, so check a retailer for today’s price.

What is the largest 3D printer under $1,000?

In the database, the Anycubic Kobra 3 Max V2 and the Anycubic Kobra 3 Max share the largest build volume under $1,000: 420 x 420 x 500 mm, or 88.2 liters. The V2 launched at $599 and the original at $699, so the V2 is also the largest under $600. Both are open-frame bedslingers.

A bedslinger moves its bed front to back, so it needs clear space beyond the frame for the bed to travel. A CoreXY moves the print head on belts and the bed only up and down. The motion system guide covers the differences.

The largest CoreXY under $1,000 is the open-frame Creality Ender-5 Max at 400 x 400 x 400 mm (64.0 liters), launched at $849. Under $600, the largest CoreXY is the Sovol SV08 at 350 x 350 x 345 mm, launched at $549.

What is the biggest 3D printer under $500?

The Bambu Lab A2L has the largest build volume in the database among printers that launched at $500 or less: 330 x 320 x 325 mm, or 34.3 liters. It launched at $469 and is an open-frame bedslinger. The next size up is the Sovol SV08, a CoreXY with 350 x 350 x 345 mm, at $549.

At $400 or less, the largest is the Sovol SV06 Plus ACE: 300 x 300 x 350 mm (31.5 liters). It launched at $349 and is also an open-frame bedslinger. Every other printer in the table at that price has a bed of 250 to 270 mm on each side. The largest enclosed printer at $400 or less is the QIDI Q2C, a CoreXY with 270 x 270 x 256 mm, launched at $399.

What is the cheapest 3D printer with a 300 x 300 mm bed?

The Sovol SV06 Plus ACE, launched at $349, is the cheapest printer in the database with both bed sides at 300 mm or more. It is an open-frame bedslinger with 300 x 300 x 350 mm. At that bed size, the cheapest CoreXY is the open-frame Sovol SV08 ($549), and the cheapest enclosed printer is the QIDI Plus5 ($749).

The FLSUN T1 Max ($549) lists 300 mm, but it is a delta. Its 300 mm is the diameter of a round bed, and the largest square that fits inside a 300 mm circle is about 212 mm on a side.

Which large printers under $1,000 are enclosed?

Four printers in the table with beds of 300 x 300 mm or more ship enclosed. The QIDI Plus5 ($749, 320 x 320 x 300 mm), Anycubic Kobra S1 Max ($899, 350 x 350 x 350 mm) and Creality K2 Pro ($849) have actively heated chambers. The Creality K1 Max ($899) has a passive enclosure.

Both Creality printers measure 300 x 300 x 300 mm. The Kobra S1 Max has the largest volume of the four, at 42.9 liters. Enclosed printers above $1,000 are in the list of large enclosed printers.

Which large printers are missing from this table?

Three kinds of large printer drop out of this table. Some launched above $1,000, such as the Sovol SV08 Max (500 x 500 x 500 mm, $1,299). Others are announced but not shipping, such as the Creality Ender-3 V3 Mega (420 x 420 x 420 mm). The rest have no launch price in their record.

The FLSUN V400 Max, a delta with a 500 mm diameter and 550 mm height, is missing for that last reason: a printer without a launch price cannot pass a price filter. The list of large-format printers covers every large printer in the database at any price. The large printer cost guide explains what the extra size costs.
